My little boy, Nathan, is hopefully having his LAST cleft palate repair in May. I know that there is sometimes a connection between heart defects and clefts and was wondering if anyone has any experience with cleft repairs. I'm wondering what the recovery is like, how the child responded, if "no no's" were needed, and how long the hospital stay was.
I think Nathan holds a record for the most cleft palate surgeries without ever having the darn thing fixed! The one coming in May is going to be number 5. If someone could pass along their experience that would be great.
