I met with Dr. Jou Monday, and he was going to submit the paperwork for Asher's BT Shunt. He said the surgery dept. would contact me to schedule the surgery. Surgery is supposed to take place in 2-3 weeks. However, I have yet to hear from the surgery dept. Is this typical? Who would I call at Primary to find out what is going on? I am very frustrated at this point- I have 2 other children and need to make plans for childcare, but can't do anything until I have a date. Any advice would be much appreciated!

with my experience ( I am learning everyday let me tell you :) ) I always call and give them a nudge and ask when and where etc......I think sometimes they have a few things fall in the cracks which drives me crazy. Dont ever fill bad to speak up, I've learned to make sure they have the correct surgery down too!!!! both times I've taken in my connor they had the wrong procedure down for him .....I hope that helps and if you need anything feel free to call me 801 599 8528 Ivy murphy also the number you need is 801 662-5566 Linda is great also if youre not getting any ansers ask for Bonnie Clay I am sure she could get to the bottom of it she is one of the nurse practitioners for the surgeons Good Luck !!!!!

I am sorry I didnt pop in to see you at PMCH I was there when you had asher there. We were in room 10 :)

Thanks for the help. I spoke with Linda today- surgery is tentatively set for the 28th. We won't know for sure until possibly Monday. It depends upon whether or not 2 newborns will need surgery, and they haven't finished diagnosing them yet. But at least I have some answers now! I hope Connor is doing well. We were in room 2 when we were in the CICU; I can't believe we're heading back already!
