I was just wondering if anybody else's baby/child has a reaction to the synagis shot (RSV)? Every time Kylie has one a day later she gets a fever, cough and stuffy/runny nose! It then starts the whole not eating thing, not sleeping and crying for 3-4 days, then turns into an ear infection, then she starts loosing weight! It is such a vicious cycle. Anyone else had problems like this? Just wondering :0) Thank You!

That sounds nasty! I was really worried about Synagis this year since Grant has a reaction every time to vaccinations, but I have been pleasantly surprised. The nurse who does the shots told me that the Synagis is different because it is not a vaccine and will not cause fevers and everything else. She told us not to give him tylenol before and not to stress it because the medicine itself was made in a different way and would not cause reactions. He has had doses in November, December, and January so far with no problems. You might ask your doctors office if there could be something else going on for poor Kylie??! Sorry!

I did ask and the pharmacy swore it wouldn't cause reactions, but even after her glenn the NP Annie said the same thing, but a day after her synagis, her and the little boy down the hall (post glenn) both had the same reaction from synagis. Then they believed me it was from the shot. I don't know what to think, but am getting tired of seeing her suffer. Maybe I can call the synagis manufactures and see what they say? Thanks for the info :0)

Last year when I read the possible side effects of the synagis shot, it did list runny nose as a possible side effect. Also said that in heart babies that it had a chance of lowering the blood/oxygen levels for a time. Dylan seemed to get a runny nose after every shot last year too.
