We are adopting.

We just wanted to let everyone know that we are in the process of adopting a little boy from Southern Utah. We have been down twice hoping to bring him back, but the case is somewhat unique in nature, and so we are going back to court on the 17th of this month (12 days) and barring anything catastrophic, we will be bringing him back. We are approved through LDS family services, but may have to go through the state. But we are now on whatever side wins custody, through some much hoop jumping and getting approved as possible foster parents. So please keep our little family in your prayers, and hopefully soon our little family will grow. Our chances of having another child with heart defects is significant and because we have lost both our first and second, we felt it was time to try a different route for our family to grow. Our little boy will be named Collin and is only a little over a week old right now. It is very hard to not be with the baby that you know will be yours soon enough, but the blessing of these little ones (heart kiddos too) is that they do not remember things that happen when they are this little. So hopefully St. Patty's day is great day for our family.

I also had a question for Carolyn or anyone who may know, did the angel group move also?

We are so excited for you guys. My niece is adopted she was truly meant to be part of our family, right from the get go. Adoption really is a miracle and a blessing.

We are praying that all goes well and that we'll all get to see pics of little Collin soon.

Emily, I am so happy for you. Both my kids were adopted. With Emma, my heart baby there was the possibilty that we would need to go through the state but it ended up going through LDS. (Emma's Birth Mom was going to have her rights terminated but she avoided it by placing Emma with us. The state stepped back and let the adoption take place.) Both my kids were also instant, I didn't know they were coming before hand. I have done the first series of Foster Care with my husband because we were going down that road before Emma was born. Anyway, e-mail me if you would like support or help. You are probably super busy right now. I was praying for you and an adoption!

HOORAY! What wonderful news! I work at LDS Family Services here in Logan and I know the many many hoops that have to be jumped in some cases. Keep your chin up and your heart prayerful. We will just hope and pray that the legalities work out for you to celebrate on St. Patty's day!!

(you said that it was okay to say that the wait sucks!!!!!):D I hope that every day flies until you hold your sweet baby BOY!!! in your arms.... I can't wait for play dates with our boys!!!! Yeah... Yeah! I am so happy for you. Our dearest friends adopted a baby this last May and may be adopting another one soon. Those adopted kids are truelly gifts from God. Congrats, hopefully you will have him this week!
